Wouldn't Wilbur do it then ?

Surely his programs are compatible. Wilbur claims to output to a number of formats including 3D DXF. It does contour lines at the very least.

Has anyone tried this free software?
My question is whether it will generate 3d models of Fractal Terrain files, but I'm too much of a dullard at these things to really understand what is going on!

Yeah but this one is supposed to do fly-throughs and the rendering looks pretty lovely.
Ahh right, I read your post as you wanted to export the FT to something else using the app rather than as an import.

Well, Fractal Terrains (I assume we mean the Profantasy World Maker software), exports to MDR, RAW, JPEG, FTW (Fractal Terrain's Extension), BMP. Not to BIN
I suppose one could export to MDR, load into Wilbur, and then export to another format for 3DEM to view. Will look into it.
