Post Mapzone - free texture editor

Just found this (hope it hasn't been posted up before and I'm repeating), but it looks good. Just off to have a play

    Link here.

If it is good and free we could start building up a good texture library for mapping

    Man this thing is powerful!

I don't understand how it works, so it must be powerful! It's got ten zillion options and all sorts of funky stuff.

    Holy $#@$@#

That is awesome. I don't mind if you feel like re-posting any other resources like this!

    Thank you!

Picking my way through it now. Now I have an inkling of what I'm doing this thing is just a beast .... should be able to generate some amazing textures with this. I'm going to cross post to the mapping elements forums, we should be able to build up a good texture library between us.

    Great find Ravs!

Hopefully I can find some time to play around with it.

The learning curve on this is really steep. I am giving it a try but it is hard to figure out.

What cracked it for me is opening the 'learning' folder and looking at how those textures were made in the editor.

That one's a really nice texture, but it might be too repetitive for a large scale map. Looks good for a regional map though.

Definitely one for a regional map, it would repeat dreadfully over a larger scale and you'd lose the detail anyway.
