Cool - good tut. Your Ortelius seems to have some useful map features with minimal UI effort to get to them. Whilst I have seen PS and Gimp etc do these it takes many stages. I would be interested in seeing more maps made with it.

Had I the money I'd buy a Mac just to get this software. :)
