Tutorial Turning 2-D Images into 3-Models

    Howdy,

After several people asked how I was able to turn a 2-D image into a 3-D Model I slapped together a quick tutorial that uses Google Sketchup.

The original map was found on Dyson's Dodecahedron's site.

I imported it into Google Sketchup and turned into this:

    With the following tutorial

I hope this helps and I welcome any feedback. This is my first tutorial so I may not have covered all of the bases. If you have any questions please let me know.

    Good luck!

This is just awesome. I'm currently awaiting delivery of my copy of "Dyson's Delves" and I don't think I have a choice but to try this out when it arrives. Thanks for the great tut.

This tutorial is excellent and even I was able to follow it and make a 3D super-futuristic dungeon video. Strongly recommended.
