    Wip Wild Spring Battle Map

A wild spring battle map I was working on. I keep adding things and take them off but I like the base not sure what else should be there. Any ideas would be helpful.

nice textures... the water is a little ruffled and could use some dampening. I'd add some bushes, perhaps a tree, some bigger rocks/boulders, or if you're feeling brave .. flowers and a fox hole

You could add some sand along the edge of the river so it blends in a little more. I do love your land texture. You are just so good at those textures. You might try 'Oilify' on the water to give it a more watery look too.

Some trees around the outside, like some generic shrubbery and perhaps some rocks would be good. This looks like a great map for an encounter with an aquatic ambush in the center when the PCs need to go for a drink.

Here is a revision of the map based on your comments which I really appreciate. Ok first off I hate trying to make trees and bushes they never look right followed by rocks but that being said here you go. The question is also should I put a grid on this? and what size. Any other ideas are welcome.

nice... the trees could use a larger shadow, try looking at my "backyard" or "crows feet" for illustrations of how large
the rocks look nice but also very alike - you could change size and direction and shade some of them for more variation.
Concidering the scale the "standard" is 1 inch is 5 feet in a lot of games (read D&D) - so that is a suggestion for grid size

Everyone seems to say it's best to offer one with grid and a copy without. Many of the VTTs allow you to drop your own grid down on them within the VTT so it's possible the GM might want a different grid than what you expected and that might create a mess.

How about an out-flowing stream with some stepping stones or a log across it? Some holes for small animal dens?

I was looking for a map for an encounter in a swamp or something pretty much like that and I found just what I was looking for.

Not bad there. I like the grass and theres some good use of texturing. Heres my crits if I may. The water is very aqua colored but then it could be a magic pool type thing which is what it leads me to think of when I see it. The dark blue ring in the pool confuses me as I would think that the center should get darker still. The bush textures are good but I think the bushes should have more form so lightening one side and darkening the other. Lastly with the stones, they are all the same size, shape and orientation and it looks like they need a little more variation. But they look good in themselves.
