Thread: Diplomacy Variant Maps?

Does anyone here play and/or have experience creating maps for Diplomacy variants? I've been cooking up the rules for a variant in my head and need a map to test them on, but tips and tricks for the creation of Dip maps are few and far between. The only good guidelines I've come across so far is to try and maintain a roughly 1:25 ratio of Supply Centers to other spaces on the map, and to be mindful of opening move possibilities.

Anybody heard anything else on the subject?
