Awesome. Brochs are one of my favourite structures.
Through the mist and where the river crosses the woodland edge lies a small fortified settlement. One large round structure towers over the settlement and its surroundings. This is the Piper's broch.
I had a lot of fun working on the map border, especially the cross-hatching. I'm used to doing layout work for games, but this feels special
Not completely related, but I'm now at the second episode from season two of Outlander and I'm already missing the scottish vibe. I suppose my next map will be a french town?

My new Deviant-thing. I finally caved.
The stone pathways are wonderful and I love all the colors you've added to the landscape.
I just posted a finished map of Scotland based on Outlander - it's in the Finished Maps thread, British Isles Map Trio #3. I haven't actually run it by any Outlander fans so I'd love to get your take.
Very nice

This is absolutely gorgeous! I love your use of bright colours. They work so well.

Gorgeous style. I am jelly
Thank you all for your very nice comments!
Larb, the more I learn about brochs, the more impressive they become to me!
aeshnidae, I've seen the map, and I'll reply soon (I've been a bit busy with work and other things.) Short version: I really like the map! (And I like folk tales, so the Irish map caught my attention as well )
I kinda have to giggle a bit whenever someone comments about the uniqueness of my style. I started out trying to emulate existing styles but totally misremembered how they actually looked, which is how I ended up with my style. Don't get me wrong though, I am very grateful you guys are giving me such a great compliment by saying that <3
