I saw an intro post about a new cross-platform vector software application today. I'd never heard of it, so thought I'd post about it in case someone wants to give it a try. You can download it or run it out your browser too. The main web site is at Designer.io and the intro post I stumbled upon is at Tutsplus.

It does seem, from a quick glance, to be aimed more at web designers (or, at least, that's what the intro post tends to focus on) but I'm sure it would work for some mapping purposes too. It'd be interesting to see how it compares to Inkscape, for example. Anyway, it's free so if you like new and shiny, it might be worth a look.
