    Map Historical Map

This is a commissioned map for a historical Book.

On this map I Learned how to draw Hills and Mountains like on old venetian Maps. I have only reused some of Joan Bleau´s Mapelements on the Coats of Arms. The Landscape was completely drawn by hand first than scanned, some here already knows how I work. Its a repeating but still very personal way of archieving some personality on maps. This was indeed, was forcing myself to look over my edges and maked me able also to realistically adapt historical reference material. Some more of this historical maps are comming. Its the first in a Set of 3 Maps. The others will be updated into this Thread on finishing.

Really nice. I really like how you illustrated the castles/cities.

The castles based on realworld fotoreferences of the now Ruins of the Location. They had several stages of revision.
