Default ...make a fortified city with a river and marsh?

So here I am, writing in the "how do I" section... I read around the tutorial section, I tried to follow some amazing tutorial, but I think the version of the software is so different, it doesn't work as it should... or maybe it's just me who sucks

I'm trying to make a fortified city, with a river and swamps around it.

anyone know any good tut. using photoshop CS4?

    Cheers

    A.

how detailed should it be - try looking up Ascensions Lazy city tutorial - I believe it is for GIMP, but it should be easily converted (I think)

yea I tried the ascensions V2 town tutorial , but it really doesn't give the same results and the filters are diferent :S

edit - oh! and the cities have to be detailed as much as possible (buildings and all) since i'm crazy
real reason is that its a very old, detailed project I made for a rpg, but i'm working on it for a PC game

now I don't know the game - but it being on screen allready lowers the detail level and required resolution. I draw all myself, so I haven't really payed that much attention to tutorials - but you can search the forum with the button in the upper right corner (but you've probably allready done that).

try looking here... http://www.cartographersguild.com/showthread.php?9606 its the city I'm working on - first I sketched it (but you don't have to do that), then I started drawing the roads in illustrator - but you can do those in photoshop as well (own layer - everything on its own layer) - now I'm adding building (in form of squares) to the file, afterwards I'll be adding bevels and textures to the elements and finishing touches - all in photoshop. Hope that helps a little
