Post MAY CHALLENGE: King Valdric's "Pikes" Gameboard

Our first challenge is brought to us by the guy who came up with the idea of the challenge in the first place. Pyrandon posted a bunch of great ideas, and I'm going to use this one as a launching point for the monthly mapping challenge. I hope you all enjoy!

King Valdric of Thew loves strategy games. It is widely known throughout the kingdom that his sense of strategy is unrivaled on the battlefield, and many attribute that to his addiction to a game conceived by one of his most trusted generals.

"Pikes" is a game that consists of a game board, and game pieces. It is your task to map out the game board, and give us a vision into the game that is worthy of capturing the attention of a king.

    Guidelines:
    • Entry must be presented as a game-board that involves game-pieces.
    • Bonus consideration for showing game-pieces either on the board or off the board.
    • Bonus consideration for creating reasonable playable rules for the game.

Be sure to read the rules thread before posting your entry thread.

You all may start posting as soon as yoru ready. Even though this challenge is for May, I figured I'd go ahead and start it up. Its too late for an April challenge.

Feel free to use this thread to discuss the guidelines of the challenge.

Ummm...To avoid confusion and to encourage discussion amongst participants. Please post your entries in their own thread. When it comes time to vote I'll gather all the entries via link into one thread and have a vote there. I don't know if I can move the entries to their own threads myself, but I'll try...if I can't...please repost them following the posting rules outlined in the sticky thread with the rules in it.

    Thanks

Edit: I can't move them...so when you post your own thread, with the proper subject line (MAY ENTRY: BLAH BLAH BLAH) I'll delete your entry here.
