i looks good - like a really old map - I'd probably strengthen the land borders a little and taper the rivers (make them thinner at the spring)
I am testing a new method to creating a new map and was wondering what you all thought of the colorization and textures of the map so far and if you had any advice for furthering the map.

Not bad! but am I the only one seeing a T-rex's head in the middle? Tilt your head to the left and look at that Peninsula in the middle !
But anyways, nice choice of colours. This map looks old!
Yesterday today was tomorrow.

I concur to tilts advice on the rivers. Otherwise it looks fine.
Looks like the kind of map you might find painted on a stone wall in an old building or something. Looks pretty cool.
The map overall looks cool. Aside from the taper you have a few river violations. Multiple outlets from lakes, rivers branching downstream. Just an observation. I like the style so far.

Haha T - Rex peninsula. Do any of you fine gentleman have a good reference for general river and geological formations? I am having a hard time finding them and my limited knowledge on the subject is not helping. Thanks for the constructive critisism too it is helping me with the finilizations of the new map.
Much apreciated!
I love grunge. But I think you may have just a tad too much overlayed here. Maybe as someone suggested, bolden the borders a bit so your eye doesn't have to strain to see them. Nice work overall though -
