A new version?! Well *draws a deeep breath*....ok, no, too easy
I like the shape (no surprise there) ... although i'd be interested to see the un-distorted version as well. Not sold on the moutain-bumps yet...but i guess this is still in very early-stage form.

Well I like both versions Diamond, but I was really digging the previous version, hope you do decide to finish both versions.

I like the new direction! This shape looks even nicer than the original! The mountains are cool too, though all of them seem to have the same height… Maybe it'd be possible to extend the shadows on some to add a little more variety? Especially the wider ranges look more like plateaus, since there are no peaks that stand out. I'm also not sure if the coastline matches the mountain style, but maybe it will when you've taken this further Anyway, it's nice to see that you are working on this again!
How's this? I'm happier with it; things look a little sharper and to my eye, the ranges seem a little more natural.
Perfect!

Thanks, Lingon!
Here's a little more color, and some rivers.
And another update. Can't decide if I should expand the canvas a bit on the top and bottom and stick the title up top, or make a cartouche or title box inside the map itself. I'm kind of leaning towards just putting a title box in the map, centered about where that big river is. That's all going to be primeval forest in there, so not a lot of text that would be covered up.
I'm loving it. It's got a good look to it. I think I'd prefer to see the title off to the side. I love the geography you have going and wouldn't want a title covering any of it up! What about following one of your original designs and offsetting the map from the center of the page and using an enlarged left/right margin? Also, if you don't mind me asking, how did you make the paper? I've tried a few different methods, but I haven't found a tutorial I really love yet on the basics. I love the fold lines, but most paper tutorials I found are usually only two-toned and the fibers/colors/little alterations in shape and color just don't ever seem to mesh right.
The border rocks In my opinion, the title would be better inside the actual frame.
