    Map City by the Sea

    Hi there,

This was commission for a private game. I changed the name of the city for preview purposes. Map was done in Photoshop with Wacom board.

Comments and critique always welcome! Thanks.

Yep, about half way through I started to think maybe there would have been an easier way to do this than to draw every building by hand... Luckily the one I was making this for was a really patient guy.

Awesome city! Drawing everything by hand pays off in my opinion, it looks fantastic. I think some deeper contrast in the colors and a few warmer tones here and there could be something to consider

Thanks Lingon! I did take your advice and added some warmer brushstrokes in the ground and the trees. Really subtle but it's better! Then the map got published by Rite Publishing as a Rite Map Pack, so yay! I think I'll try to do a WIP here for my next Map Pack, as the value of the advice and critique here from very talented people is priceless.
