I must say this wip is becoming more and more interesting and inspirational.
    I think you’re doing a great job.
Regarding city icons, I agree with the others; also I think you should choose between 2d and 3d rather than having both.
Your map style here reminds me to TheRedEpic style, have you seen his maps like this one? Maybe you can get some inspiration for the icons from them.

Yeah, this map is very inspired by TheRedEpic, I want to try and keep it different enough though.
As for the icons, I'm not sure to do besides what I already have for them. Maybe just simple Icons would work better?

    It's been such a long-time since I've updated this.

There's really lots to like about this map! I love the colour scheme and that fact that the whole thing is very balanced as a composition. I especially like the sea pattern too.

To answer your question, I'd give the icons a thumbs-up In general, I really love the style of this map. The swirls you've got going in there really give it a unique feel.

Really pretty. I get the ocean swirls as styling, and they look good. The patches of onshore swirls though make me wonder if it's a feature of some sort, rather than 'just' texture?

Is the top left circle zoomed in, or just called out for emphasis? Either way would work, just can't tell which.

    Mountains *with foothills*; yay!

Just got around to reading this comment - sorry about that, the top left circle is a far away place that is brought to attention on the map without increasing its size, does that make sense? Kind of like how Alaska is super imposed on most USA maps.

    I thought I updated it when I didn't, that's my bad.

Another update, this time more labelling, and reworked part of the info box, I need to add a scale soon.

Should I put labels for the mountains, rivers, that sort of stuff? Any other critiques?
