Have you tried something like https://freegistutorial.com/how-to-e...ormat-on-qgis/ to see if it works?
QGIS and I have never really gotten along well the few times I've installed it, so I'm afraid I can't be a whole lot of help, regardless of the OS you install it on.

in the Qgis gui on the left bottom is the layers of the project

right click on the " re-projected " ( top) layer and select from the menu "export" then "save as "

Ah it's no worries thanks for your help through this.

I think I figured out why it was squashing thanks to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVi7dCBu1hU

But the problem of quality still remains even after checking out this https://freegistutorial.com/how-to-e...ormat-on-qgis/

(Ignore the slight shade difference and natural shape change from switching projections)

Even after changing the DPI to 1000 the quality just seems noticeably worse. If this is inevitable I will have to live with it but It just seems bizarre I can't export the image exactly as I see it in the program. If anyone familiar with QGIS could tell me what's up I'd appreciate it.
