    Nice map, have some rep

Not a fantasy drawing per se, but without the labelling it could be. Are you doing the final version of the map digitally?

    Post Royal Parks Sketch

Yup, I'm working on it now, using a combo of photoshop and Painter x. not sure if I'll keep the sketchy layer yet though, here's a copy of what I sent the client for the styling.
    p.s. thanks for the rep

That is some way cool work there. I like the sketchy look and I hope that the client will too.

Looks good. Nice to see more painter .

Dollhouse Syndrome = The temptation to turn a map into a picture, obscuring the goal of the image with the appeal of cute, or simply available, parts. Maps have clarity through simplification.

This is looking lovely. Funny, when I saw the first sketch of the little girl flying the kite, I thought of Quentin Blake. Please don't worry about it not being a fantasy map - all maps are welcomed here.

It makes Hyde Park look a lot prettier than it is!!!

Always nice to see maps used for different purposes.

Nice work, and I would be surprised if your client wasn't happy with it.

    Map Hyde park map finished...

Sorry Guys forgot to post this when I'd finished it. The clients loved it, in the end the map was probably the quickest part to do, it went from 1 map and 16 tree illustrations to 1x map and 104 illustrations of trees, leaves, insects and lots of other tree related items, all in all it took about 7 weeks of work, working mostly at night and at weekends, loved doing it but glad I've got my life back! The finished map is A2 with trees and illustrations on both sides, this is the map side, the other side has more trees and the wildlife living on an oak tree

Done entirely in Photoshop CS4, I toyed with the idea of using Painter but because of the size the map needed to be the redraw time was a killer!
