This is looking spectacular so far. I don't know if you drew or generated the coasts but those islets are superb
That looks really awesome. Something about that color scheme and method just does it for me.

I actualy used illustrator alone for the terrain, the land is all done as a vector, then when i moved to Photoshop i kinda went over the head with the file size and then had to decrease it, you know how vectors work, they allowed me to make it too big for my pc to even load the .png files i saved.
as for details and finishing im using Photoshop ofcourse.

Just showing progress, Im refining those houses using Illustrator once done I will move on to shadows.

I'd say generally of the shield it's 'per pale argent and gules with lion rampant or, and a big chunk taken out'
The map's looking great
If I was not clear i ment the shape rather then the heraldic design, should I go for the standard shield or should I keep with this design, either way I will keep the inside design.
The map is great. I like the way the coast looks.
I haven't studied medieval weaponry before (just history), so I'm curious what the purpose of the missing chunk of the right side is for. The shape is cool though, I'd keep it.
It looks like a jousting shield of some type; missing chunk is where your lance would go.
The map is looking great, Hart! Go go go!
Yeah, I thought the same as Diamond, perhaps some spear units might use these kind of shields as well? While there's nothing wrong with the design I think that 'normal' shield are more commonly used for heraldry. Then again, this is a fantasy map, so you can come up with whatever you like to explain this. Otherwise this looks very cool!
Jousting sticks?
