Those pictures are fabulous! You've inspired me now! My next map is going to be all hand drawn and labelled!
Stunning work!
Greetings everyone!
I've made a photo album with some Battlemoor map process shots since some of you wanted to see it. I hope I do the link right...I'm new at formatting in a forum...

Nice work anachronista! Link was solid, pictures were good, map is something I wish I had produced to give to my players. Thanks for sharing your process ( like a mini tutorial on one page! ) Rep
Really nice, like your hand drawn works!
I'd also like to see a higher res version. I like how your side placed compass rose gives the entire island a sense of one land among many with the radiating lines.
Are any of these members still active? I just discovered cartography within the SCA and I'm interested in learning more about it.
I was in the SCA in the last year and half of my tour in the US Army, while stationed in Alaska, which was the Principality of Oertha, Kingdom of the West - but that was 28+ years ago. So no, not an active member. I passed fighter training, but never actually participated in fighting tourney. I got out of the army, then returned home to Illinois, and from what I heard, the Middle Realm (which Illinois is a part, is one of the most political, thus the most problematic to participate in among all the kingdoms.) It was something cool I did long ago, but that's long past.

Very cool. I've been in 5 years but just moved to a new kingdom where there are a few cartographers. I'm looking for folks to learn more about SCA cartography.
