    This map is looking good. It begs a question from me. I am looking to do a city map which spans multiple elevations. I like the way you represented it but I'll need something "More". The depiction of terrain elevated maps seems pretty rare. Can you point me to a tutorial or dissertation or some examples I may have missed? It would be a great help !

    Your asking resources on top down maps ? Otherwise, for isometric maps it's much simpler. (I guess but i never really tried)

    The walled city is mostly all on the same level with very little variation. My map depict the abrupt elevation change but not really the subtle ones. I might add some more cliffs here and there to illustrate the change in elevation better. The area north of the wall toward the river is supposed to be pretty steep.


    Note: I have a file with maps I like that I keep. That way, it's easy to find one for inspiration, or like in the case of the Orion arm by Swissknight: if it disappears form the internet.

    I was thinking about and was wondering if I've answered the question.

    While the style I'm using does represent the changes in elevation, it doesn't do it very well. I don't know how to represent the difference between a steep and a light slope. Does someone know how can I do that with the style I'm using?

    Hey Azelor. It is a tricky thing to do from top view. I've tried a few ways but each has its own upsides and downsides.
    Are you going to be adding shadows? That helps, or makes it a bit easier to show.
    I'm working atm but maybe tonight I can try to put together a little thing to show some ways I've tried to do it.
    I'm still on that quest to find better ways to show that kind of elevation change.

    This is the sample I made. It's another style but I'm thinking that by adding more lines, it can give the impression that the slope is steeper.

    For a steeper slope you want the lines closer together. More lines makes it look larger aera wise, the difference between the bottom two.
