Okay, so here it is! I can't believe I finished it in time! (actually, with time to spare).

So it's a pocket watch... at least at first glance. Dim the lights though, and the blue gem in the center projects a 3D hologram of the surrounding space with your location and pathing marked out in green.

Comments? Suggestions? Render requests? let me know!

The dark images are so dark that I can't see anything except for some blue in the hologram.
Bill Stickers is innocent! It isn't Bill's fault that he was hanging out in the wrong place.

    [EDIT]
Okay, upped the scene's lights and made the hologram more opaque to combat the brightness increase

Much better! Now just animate it and I'm sold.

Awesome idea! Might want to brighten up the blues a bit more still...really make 'em glow. Might want to add in something like sunrays coming down from the clouds but in reverse going from the gem up to the planets...like a laser light show thing (but not too bight). Very nice.
If the radiance of a thousand suns was to burst at once into the sky, that would be like the splendor of the Mighty One...I am become Death, the Shatterer of worlds.
