Alright people, a somewhat more substantial update this time. I finished the handdrawn elements, and have now started throwing in some (if I say so myself) pretty lighthearted city icons. Idea is to make this map fun to look at for a kid growing up, not a hellish, nightmare-inducing wasteland

I also started doing roads, but then my train reached my stop and I had to run to get off before the doors closed on me. Managed to finish the first island though!

    Thanks Misty!

Here's another update people, and I'm tempted to call it finished! I should actually still add a compass and a scale, but well... "I don' wanna"

If I'm going to, it'll probably be some silly versions of both, aimed at children rather than something too serious. We'll see!

I think it looks great. If it were me, I would definitely make an effort to keep this saved in an editable format so that when your daughter gets older and starts making up stories (assuming mommy and daddy don't make up stories for her ) you could do little updates to add names to places and what not. And I'm pretty sure I said it already, but congrats!!

I love what you did here ! Your wonderful style on such a personal topic, I'm glad you shared it with us. I especially love how you islanded the letters. If I had one tiny proposition, it would be to make the deserts a little bit more orange or with some orange zones for a warmer feel but they're amazing as they are. Welcome to Sam !

Wow, well done and interestingly made! Kudos! And congratulations, another tiny navigator on your side to traverse the world with is surely awesome!
I'm not 100% sold on the bevel/emboss look of the borders since IMO it doesn't fit in with the style of the map, but it could be just my taste. Repped! =)

    It looks great Pieter
I do somewhat agree with Steffen on the borders.
