Default The five moons of Shalimar, a space map

    Hello everyone
Most of my work with photoshop is dedicated to maps but sometimes i'm trying to do some space art. After seeing beautifull space maps like the ones ilanthar has made i realise it was possible to mix space art and maps. So after a long time i give it a try
Critics are welcome, it's my first space map so i can have made some mistakes!

Wow quite impressive, I really like the graphics and satellites. Might be interesting to know what types the satellites are? Really nice eye candy!

Thanks Snodsy for the eye candy, and thx to those who rep the map
It was quite difficult to find interesting labels and informations about the moons, i spent too much time on the basemap so i was a bit dry for labels i'll try to add more info about that next time.

Great colors and composition, Francissimo! The infographics are very legible and well done.
Two nitpicks : The big yellow stars are fine when zoomed out, but a bit pixellated at full size (I tend to remove the big stars of the space ressources I could use for that reason, btw). I think there is something missing to integrate better those great orbital stations, but I can't put the finger on it.

thanks for the advices ilanthar i'll keep that in mind for my next one
I wasnt really satisfied with the space stations either but i cant figure how to improve their integration in the map, i just use a inner shadow layer effect and paint lights and shadows but he result wasnt really good, maybe i'll try to work more details on the shadows layer.

A very lovely piece Francissimo! The colors are so vibrant! The symbols are clear and attractive. The planets look quite realistic. An impressive first stab at a space map!

    Cheers,

Beautiful work. It makes me want to play a 4x space game if any were this pretty...they're getting close, but not quite. Great job!
