Okay truth be told I misread the challenge description as it twigged something in me that I needed for my home-brew D&D campaign so I read what I wanted into the challenge description and didn't catch my error until I was 3/4 done my map. So I present my map to you for your consideration and suggestions.

Nice map Frost, Welcome to the Challenge.

Suggestion One (which has nothing to do with the Challenge) The smaller labels are nearly unreadable. You either need a cleaner or larger font.

Suggestion Two. All you need to meet the guidelines of the challenge is make a separate version of the map with a slightly different Legend calling this something like "The Cartographer's Guild Town". Then label a few houses with names that either pertain to mapping or the people here at CG. And Bingo, you're in business!!

Thanks for the welcome and suggestions...

    What is a good font?
Being new here what names should I add to the map?

I'm not an expert on fonts, but there are tons of good ones here http://www.dafont.com
Just pick one that is clean so it is legible even when small.

Since you are new and don't know a lot of the names yet, just use names of members who have posted and commented on this challenge.

Welcome to the challenge, Frost Birch! As Bogie says, just a title change and you're all sorted to home some cartographers.

As for font, most of the fonts I use come from dafont, as there's a really great selection. One quite simple, fairly all-purpose one is the IM Fell family, which you can check out here: http://www.dafont.com/im-fell-types.font

    Hope that helps!

Hey Frost Birch, I edited your post to add the WIP tag so your map will show-up in the Thumbnails.

for future reference you have to click on the WIP button in the tool bar right above the text screen where you are typing. Check this graphic:
