It does have a rather lovely paint texture to it, especially in the water

Is that ArtRage you are using?

Looking good, Tenia. I like the shape of that building at the far right and am wondering what goes on in there?!

Apart from that it's looking fantastic Tenia
You are completly right, I don't want that my island to be a target so I will correct this as soon as possible !

No, I just took an image from a L3DT 3D heightmap view and then applied a GMI'C filter to the water (finger paint) in Gimp. I should have a look to Artrage though, as the technique I use in Gimp to have a painting effect - put some colors next to each other and then smudge the whole - is not satisfying.

I don't know yet, but as it is my own island I guess that there will be many bars and restaurants here

The effects you have achieved without it are superb

    Thanks Mouse.
I want to add an easter egg here but I am waiting for a copyright notice...
    Anyway, some progress, I hope

    Question

    Fantastic!

    Really nicely done.

I especially like the buildings and the ROAD, really that road... um, how on earth did you do it?

Haha, it is exactly that Mouse I forgot to mention this in my post. I found that heliports are far tooooo common now, so I decided to invest in a Spaceship pad

Actually it is a simple line drawn with an oil brush (something not too straight) on which I applied an small inner down-bevel effect...

    Hmmm....

*Mouse racks brain for what might be more impressive than a spaceship landing pad*

I'll match that bid, and raise you a teleport pad - situated where the light should be in the old lighthouse tower

    (only kidding!)

I like the way this map looks. Especially the buildings. They remind me of the buildings in an old Dungeons & Dragons booklet that I have called the Kingdom of Ierendi. It is basically a tropical paradise that was started somewhat like Australia was. Very cool!
