I think it might have been down to the fact that for some reason I kept trying to stroke a reasonably complicated path onto a text box when my laptop was already lumbering along with over 20 full extent layers on this piece. Those are the times that I counted as being down to my own stupid mistakes

When you were describing the colour scheme way (, way, way, way) back in this thread and I saw the first few concepts I thought this was going to be really gaudy and unattractive.

I can't believe what you've done with this. Somehow you've managed to take all of those yukky colour combinations and turn them into something beautiful, tasteful. This, for me, is a brilliant example of making the best of a very challenging hand of cards and turning them into a winner. This has gone far beyond my imagination, never mind expectations, from the description you posted in the beginning. An amazing display of imagination and artistry. Excellently done Mouse, now make sure you finish this in time!

Looking great Sue! What I find really cool, is how you have the foreground in daylight, and the distant background is in night shading. Really enhances the perspective that we are looking at a planet.

    Aw thanks, Bogie

I get to use less pink that way

The next stage may ruin the whole effect, since I'm about to add loads of purple trees!

Last one - and its not finished

There are all kinds of things wrong with it, but I'm starting to make really silly mistakes (been awake too long), so I'll leave it as it is for now and finish it after the LC is over, then upload it as a finished map in a couple of weeks time.

Thanks for all the help everyone
