    Default Meshon's Mapvember

Oh wow, do I miss this place! I decided to apply for reapplication to the guild with some MapVember. I started yesterday, using the official list. Here's the first two. Now I gotta go get my votes in on the latest challenge, amazing things are happening here! The one good thing about being away for a bit is that there's a whole bunch of amazing inspiring work to catch up on…

First is a goblin ambush site, inspired by a real place in the Rocky Mountains that I'd still like to make more maps of…
Second is bandits, but I decided to try a sci-fi feel. Big shout out to @AbuLafia(does that work, with the at thingy?) whose style I am trying desperately to copy!

Two fine maps already. You did a great job recreating Abu's style, with quite some flavour of your own. I look forward to the rest (:

Great to see someone else taking on the challenge, Meshon! You're already ahead if me mind.

As Dan said, two really nice maps there. That second one is particularly lovely. Not overstated but perfectly detailed and the border is fantastic!

Thanks for being so nice everyone!

So, it's 30 maps in 30 days, right? And doing a map a day is a good way to stay on target, but not 100% required? I decided to try something completely out of my comfort zone today, but it's not done yet, so this is a WIP. I decided to draw a night scene (I think I only tried this once before) and to not use any lines! Just some various photoshop brushes. Here's the Glade of the Black Goat so far. My intention is to colour the cliff something totally different like green and brown, and figure out how to mix the moonlit grass with some dirt for this Cultist hangout. I also want to put in a big stone with weird spirals. Oh, and shading. More tomorrow!

Ah, how embarrassing, my palette is showing. Ah well…

Go Meshon! Those moonlit tones are already shining through, so I'm looking forwards to the update on it.

I think pushing yourself and going for something different is exactly one of the things Mapvember is about.

Great work on this Meshon, and kudos for not using any lines. I wouldn't know how to do that (:

Nice stuff, I really like that retro space-age sci-fi sketch.
