Thread: Harlasea

    Default Harlasea

Back in July of 2016 we had the challenge, Fantasy Random Generator, which was such an awesome challenge.
We should do this one again

The selection I went with read...
Harlasea, an ancient plane of rough-hewn valleys and sapphire oceans, illuminated by a golden sun.
The plane is primarily populated by humans, with smaller numbers of other races.
The humans of Harlasea are beset by swarms of wyverns.

That sounded pretty compelling to me and off I went.
It was a blast to work on this map and I loved the result.
You can see more of the progress over in the wip thread.
But then I never posted it to finished maps. So now I am.
I have a few other maps that need to get posted as well.
I'll get to them as I can. Cheers, J

So, this is on of the "missing wonders" of last year Atlas Awards nominations.
I love the play wit colors and the perspective of this one. A masterpiece!

Great to see this one again. Your wyvern hasn't become any less terrifying in the last year and a half!

Beautiful work, and such an eye-catching map. I adore the mountains in the top right area.

Yeah, I kicked myself for not having made a finished map thread of it.
Then I realized just this month that I still hadn't, which is terrible.
I realized I had a number of maps I hadn't actually done finished map threads for.

Well, that was part of the thought process, but I also really have gotten a bit slack on my posting habits.
I need to edit and make some new albums. I hit a per album image limit a while back and then sort of stopped for a long while.
    Need to fix that.

I need to add more dragons and beasties to maps.
I learned a lot while working on this map.
