I think the emboss in PS has lots of nifty settings doesn't it? ISTR there being options for material and different light sources. Or was that something else I was thinking of?

I've added some rivers. I think the base is more or less done so it's just details and things to get on with.

I was just playing around with emboss yesterday and yes, many nifty settings!

Did you manage to create some cool effects?

I've added a few borders and some colours to the different territories. I'll see how it looks uploaded in jpeg before I decide whether to stick with it or not. I've got labelling and various places of interest to add.

Very nice Straf, the striped colours of the territories are just perfect, they don't mask the relied but are clearly visible. Some boundaries seem a bit straight (in the NW) it's probably due to the relief configuration ?

    That's looking great

Have you ever considered using a very subtle bevel effect on the landmass to make it look like its rising out of the ocean?

Thanks all. I'm not too happy with it though. I need to change the colours and the stripes around a bit as there are separate but neighbouring territories that look too similar. Colours act weird sometimes.

Just a little update/experiment as I mess about with fonts for the labelling.

    Subtle but very nice colors!
