Wip November 2018 Challenge: The Continent of Ithira

In our gaming group we just finished the end of one campaign so I decided to step up to run the next one, using Pathfinder. However I wanted to do something a little different. A while back I got the rules for "Microscope", a collaborative world building game. We've played it a few times with random worlds so this time before character creation and campaign start we had a couple of sessions of it to build the world's history. It does help as now everyone going into the campaign is on the same page as they helped create the history (as opposed to the DM handing a wad of papers detailing the lineage and events of a place). For those who are thinking of giving it a go however, we did it with 6 players - personally I'd recommend to use it if you have a smaller group.

The result of those was this. After a bit of tweaking, figuring out timescales and adding some prehistory I wrote it up as a timeline:

(there are still many events and areas to flesh out and I'm considering moving some timescales so it's not quite finished yet)

    And then, detailing the coastlines:

I usually don't go for wip posts, preferring to post maps only when they're done but I'll try and update this along the way

Thanks for the comments guys . Coastlines are one thing I always seem to get hung up on and spend too much time doing

I'm away for the week (possibly starting the campaign) without access to photoshop so won't be able to continue until I get back but I did make a start on mountain placement:

As for biomes, from comments during and since worldbuilding there is a rainforest/jungle to the northeast, large wild steppe to the northwest and icy tundra to the south (I think they just wanted to make it harder for me to make this map XD)
