Thread: April 2019 Challenge: Smiles Bay

Thank you so much MistyBeee, MoNeart and Diamond. I’m happy you guys like this.

Haven’t updated in a while, but kept doing some small work every evening the last week, so coming closer to the end!

I keep going experimental with this map. I originally wanted to mountains to have a sort of fantastic striped feel (The Striped Cliffs of Smiles Bay), while still feeling like mountains. It looks strange, but it turned out like I wanted (I think for now).

Now it’s time to focus some on Smiles favorite (pain)tings!

I love it. The mountains are a bit strange, but once you catch your bearings, they make total sense. This is turning out great, can't wait to see it finished!

Looks cool to me, but you should sneak some smiley faces into the cliff/mountain faces.

    Yes! Totally agree.

My biggest thanks for the kind words (I tried the smiles in the cliff, but just couldn't get them right).

This is probably (unless small edits) the final version! I think everything is in-place and accounted for, and the pirate poem about (S)miles life is both written and visualized.

I hope people will like the final result. I had so much creative fun with this map, so as always with these challenges, I learned so much.

    Have a good weekend everyone.

    Cheers,
    Karl

I like the purple roofs and am looking forward to more of the paintings along the bottom.
