There are things I like about both.
I know how much easier it is to get things just so digitally.
And to easily make changes, or more easily, to be accurate.
You did a great job on both of them though.
Get those labels done. ;P
Here's the finished acrylic painting on paper, without labels. I scanned it last night and made a few slight adjustments to tone and values this morning but it's basically how it came off the easel. I didn't hit every mark I wanted but it's pretty good considering. I still like the digital version better for overall values and some of the finer details I couldn't do in time at a size to fit in the scanner. Oh well. It was fun to try it both ways and get some practice with real paint.
Let me know what you think! Do you prefer the digital sketch in the first post or the acrylic on paper version below?

They both look good, but I prefer the acrylic on paper version.
The acrylic terrain color looks more natural to me. The digital color seems exaggerated.
I also like the texture of the terrain and frame better in the acrylic version.
Thanks J!
Some things can be done just so digitally, but not the magnificent feel and texture of paint on paper
of all good things in life, that's one of the best and why I couldn't keep myself from it in the end. no willpower on that front
Thank you! I totally agree, especially about the paper texture, hehe (see my comment above to J.Edward)
And here is the final acrylic map! *kazoo sounds*

That turned out great.
But I wish the image was slightly larger so it would be easier to see the details.
Oh, this is such an incredibly lovely piece ! There's a poesy and some vintage vibes which reminds me Tolkien's Christmas letters.
Just beautiful
Looks fantastic! I'm not completely sold on the font choice, though, I feel like it clashes a bit with the beautiful artwork beneath. And I'll have to second BKH, I'd really love to be able to see said beautiful artwork in more detail
Nice to see your work again - it's been a while since I've last come across any!
Thanks Bogie!
Thank you, BKH! I've posted a larger version for my Patreon supporters
Thank you, Beee! I'm so pleased you like it
Thank you Kellerica! I do agree with you about the font, it's probably a bit too hard for the rest of it but I decided that it's ok for now and I didn't have extra time to go exploring for a better one. I've shared a larger version with my Patreon supporters
