Mooore work done here. The characters (and the grid) are here just for reference. They will not show in the final version. I need to finish to put the bushes, 2 ou 3 more fallen trees and small detail like fallen leaves, more mushuroons, small sotnes and the like.

Do I miss something here? I thought about labels but it seems unnecessary to me... Do you think I should, at least, number the points of interest to helping identifying then in a description?

And a scale bar? I will have a grid version of tihs where 1hex/square = 1,5m. Do I put a scale bar in the "clean vesion" to be sure?

That's a tough call. Some people feel that a map isn't complete unless it has a scale and labeling. On the other hand, to much of it and the map looks cluttered. My suggestion is to put a scale bar and then see how it looks with some subtle numbers.

This came out nicely. You really filled out the terrain well. the Island really pops up. Well done.

I am notorious for never bothering with scales, compasses, or titles, or borders for that matter, lol. Which is why I probably have 1 lone compass.

I would do as Bogie suggested, try some faint numbers and a scale tucked away in the corner somewhere.

BEHOLD YOUR DOOM! Here is the area map of the Bloody Tree, a sinister point of interest very near the Lilia Village in the Shallow Island... What may be the fantastical history behind this strange and dark place?

In the square or hex grid version, each unit is 1,5 meters.

    Click for high-resolution version

Click for high-resolution version with hex grid

Click for high-resolution version with square grid

    Here the labels:

1 | Way To Lilia Village
2 | Where The Wicked Rests
    3 | Old Man's Stone
4 | Way To The Goddess
5 | Edward, The Brave And Fair
    6 | Poor's Men End
    7 | Justice Or Doom?
    8 | Bloody Lake
    9 | Feodora, The Maiden
    10 | Agalya, The Honest
    11 | Natasja, The Fearful
    12 | Gavrila, The Gentle
    13 | Karina, The Huntress
14 | Lilia, The Bloody Bird

A pure battlemap for the virtual tabletop doesn't need and should not be cluttered with labels and such, but once you add on a decorative border, I do think it calls for the additional details.

That central pool looks like strawberry jam and is making me hungry.
