The Cartographers’ Guild is a forum created by and for map makers and aficionados, a place where every aspect of cartography can be admired, examined, learned, and discussed. Our membership consists of professional designers and artists, hobbyists, and amateurs—all are welcome to join and participate in the quest for cartographic skill and knowledge.
Although we specialize in maps of fictional realms, as commonly used in both novels and games (both tabletop and role-playing), many Guild members are also proficient in historical and contemporary maps. Likewise, we specialize in computer-assisted cartography (such as with GIMP, Adobe apps, Campaign Cartographer, Dundjinni, etc.), although many members here also have interest in maps drafted by hand.

Thanks for the info. I was not sure if they were supposed to be that way, or if something was wrong, as many things have been going wrong with the program. Just wanted to be sure that that was not one of them.
AHhhhhhhh. Ok, that is merely one symbol set. There are 'other' symbol sets out there. There is the purchasable SS2 (i believe) which has more symbols available, as well as symbols which can be gleaned off the Dundjinni forums as well. As to being les rich/detailed. I hadn;t really paid it much head.
For example, the symbols under the Temples and Statues symbol catalog, such as the lectern and pulpit symbols. They look more cartoonish than the symbols for the buildings in CC3.
I'm not sure what you mean. Which symbols are you refering to?
I was having trouble getting started with the grids, but after looking through Gwandarf's tutorial I think that I figured that out. However, I did have a question about the symbols. They seem to be less rich and detailed than the ones that come with CC3 itself, is that normal?
