The Cartographers’ Guild is a forum created by and for map makers and aficionados, a place where every aspect of cartography can be admired, examined, learned, and discussed. Our membership consists of professional designers and artists, hobbyists, and amateurs—all are welcome to join and participate in the quest for cartographic skill and knowledge.
Although we specialize in maps of fictional realms, as commonly used in both novels and games (both tabletop and role-playing), many Guild members are also proficient in historical and contemporary maps. Likewise, we specialize in computer-assisted cartography (such as with GIMP, Adobe apps, Campaign Cartographer, Dundjinni, etc.), although many members here also have interest in maps drafted by hand.

No, I didn't know about Mad Hatters. I'll have to look it up. I work at Tech, so I've visited Black Dog a few times, but his clientele mostly play Magic and such, which is just too expensive for me to contemplate getting into. And I think the game shop in the mall has closed. I've played a fair number of different systems over the years, but nothing really since I moved here 4 years ago. So I'm out of touch with the current game systems. I've tried some online gaming, but it's hard to keep the group together or on a schedule when you don't meet in person. In general I just like games - board, strategy, rpg, computer, etc. Thanks!
I've actually moved to abilene, I need to update that, however there are a few groups in Lubbock. You know where mad hatters is on 34th? Most swing by there off and on. I'm also in lubbock from time to time. What systems do you play?
Reading the Gamer thread got me nostalgic for gaming, so I went to the member map to look and see if there were any folks local to me. And lo and behold, there was one! I don't suppose you know of any gaming groups or events in this town, do you? I don't actually live in Lubbock, but I work there. Even if you don't, it's good to know there's someone nearby with some of the same interests as me. TMO
