The Cartographers’ Guild is a forum created by and for map makers and aficionados, a place where every aspect of cartography can be admired, examined, learned, and discussed. Our membership consists of professional designers and artists, hobbyists, and amateurs—all are welcome to join and participate in the quest for cartographic skill and knowledge.

Although we specialize in maps of fictional realms, as commonly used in both novels and games (both tabletop and role-playing), many Guild members are also proficient in historical and contemporary maps. Likewise, we specialize in computer-assisted cartography (such as with GIMP, Adobe apps, Campaign Cartographer, Dundjinni, etc.), although many members here also have interest in maps drafted by hand.

Biography:: 55 y.o. gaming enthusiast, I have always loved Fantasy and SciFi and have read and played in those genres almost my entire adult life. I have always drawn my own maps starting on notebook paper, graduating to large rolled sheets of Hex paper and graph paper and now I'm trying this newfangled doohickey called the "Interwebby"-No seriously love maps and stories that go with them and would love to map on a computer, just haven't found one simple enough that even I can't screw it up. By the way I am a AD&D purist-1st and 2nd Ed forever-though I will throw in some Arduin Grimmoire her and there and last few years really have become attracted to Hackmaster-So fun.
