The Cartographers’ Guild is a forum created by and for map makers and aficionados, a place where every aspect of cartography can be admired, examined, learned, and discussed. Our membership consists of professional designers and artists, hobbyists, and amateurs—all are welcome to join and participate in the quest for cartographic skill and knowledge.

Although we specialize in maps of fictional realms, as commonly used in both novels and games (both tabletop and role-playing), many Guild members are also proficient in historical and contemporary maps. Likewise, we specialize in computer-assisted cartography (such as with GIMP, Adobe apps, Campaign Cartographer, Dundjinni, etc.), although many members here also have interest in maps drafted by hand.

Biography:: I'm never good at these things but I'll endeavour to tell you that I am one of the many graduated artists in the UK stuck in an existential limbo of such a practice.

I've always wanted to make a vast and epic fantasy novel series, mainly in the vain of the usual suspects: Tolkien, Pratchett, Robert E. Howard, Stephen King, and some of the less known gems like Joe Abercrombie and Chris Evans (Iron Elves). Anyway, it's high time that I actually started doing something about this, which is partly why I am here; online befriending to like-minded enthusiasts being the other part of the reason.

Interests:: Travelling, reading, gaming, exercising, my girlfriend, internets and general lols.

Software Used:: Photoshop CS5 and GIMP. Coral Painter might be equally useful but I use that mainly for, well, digital painting.
