Sweet! A really really nice idea - REP WORTHY!!

not sure what the elements on the left column are? A separate story? Would a sun be appropriate - what is it signifying? time of day?, they live in southern hemisphere? What are the bottom elements?

Sorry so many question, but I love this and want to know, great job!

Hey! Impressive! I like the hands coming out of the sun, is that a reference to Akhenaton? Really good thinking. the colours are good. One thing that is missing, the sphinx with the broken noze! Kidding. Actually if there is one thing I would suggest you is to put a raft of some sort or somone gathering the grapes. Remember that often in ancien times people used to draw human activities of everyday.

However, the red on the border, I like it. You have that fading effect that light gives on painting over the years.

You may find the Turin Papyrus Map interesting. It dates to about 1160 BCE, and depicts the topography of an area in the eastern desert of Egypt, including indications of local mineral deposits (gold mine and quarry mainly), which makes sense since it was made for a mining and quarrying expedition in the Rammesid era.

The sun-rays you've used are typical of art from the Amarna period (approx 1350 BCE). So congrats, you've made a map that's a couple centuries older than the oldest existing Egyptian map. ^_^
