Post Dragonskull: My first map ever!

Well maybe not my first ever, since there was one based off HP Lovecraft's "Dreamlands" geography in high school, but that was just renamed locations.

This is Dragonskull. The first ever Photoshop map I ever made way back in 1999.

If you have seen the New Dawn of the West maps, you will recognize many place names. It's been fun looking this over and traveling down memory lane

Well it ain't much to look at, but it's where it all began ... enjoy

Pull Over for the River Police.

You have some major River Violations going there. Usually, I am more forgiving then most, able to visualize large river deltas, but your map violates this as well.

Remember, Rivers flows down hill, and smaller rivers Join into bigger rivers but in the exception of a river delta, never split.

    Otherwise, a good start.

Always interesting to go back and look at stuff you've done a long time ago, and compare to what you currently can do to see see progression.

I wish I had some of my older stuff still, just so I can remind myself how little I really knew back then.

    Thx for posting.

I was going to say something, but I thought maybe it would inspire you to try your hand at designing from scratch

Rather than start a new thread I will keep this one going.

So that map was the one I intended to use for D&D until in about 2007 I decided to update the process.

This next map was an attempt by me to be more artistic and was my first attempts at blend fills.

In the end I didn't go for this map as it wasn't doing what I wanted it to do... but each step was a learning process.
