Default Interesting use of google maps api to map a Video game's world (Terraria)

I followed the instructions in the discussion thread to get thing working, and it's working nicely, and very helpful to have on another screen while I'm playing the game.

I'm impressed by the size of the game world, by the use of google maps to easily display large amounts of visual data at once (which I've been fiddling with as well), and by the interest people are showing in maps as a useful tool as well as visual art in games like Terraria (this one) and Minecraft.

Anyway, I thought some of you might be interested! Enjoy!

As you hinted, there is a similar system for Minecraft using OpenLayers.

You should have posted the link to the whole working thing:

Yes its a cool idea. I take it that your getting the map slices from the game itself or some kind of web page which can export them.

The slices are called Tiles btw in GIS terminology.
