Map The Tower of Voliodian Ghagnasdiak - kinda

    Hi all and sundry,

After a bit of a lay-off I'm back to GM'ing my Elric of Melnibone campaign using the MRQII/legend rules with some Runequest 6 thrown in for good measure. Anyhow, here is a WIP of the Tower. Note: from the outside the tower appears to be about 15 metres tall and triangular in shape with walls approximately 20 metres long. The scale of the grid is 1 sq = 1 mtr, so the interior is actually an inter dimensional space. The map is fairly large A1 size (original at 300ppi, this one is at 150 ppi). I'm going to print it at work on our A1 plotter (B&W).
    Enjoy.

Edit: I realise I've made a major error. Printing it as is, is not going to give me an A1 battlement. The room sizes are 1/2 what they should be. The grid in PS is set to 1 inch squares, but I scaled the map grid to 1/2 that to give me 2 squares per inch. Damn.

An update. As the original map was not drawn to the correct scale I've decided to ditch the above and create a simple 4 level rectangular tower. This is just the base layout of the tower. Starting from top left going clockwise, Ground Floor, Level 1, Level 2, Basement.

I'm using PS CS4. I created the basic buildings using the rectangular marquee tool, filled them with white and then stroked them at 25px (file is 23" x 3"" 100px pi).

The internal walls I've done using a 5px pencil.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get the stroke to do a 'square' external corner, rather than a rounded one?

I've deliberately left the space on the side for a map key when finished.

The techniques I'm using are fairly basic, but being a newb to PS I wouldn't have been able to get this far without the tuts on this site. So thanks to all the tut posters!

Below is the un-furnished, completed tower. I, personally like the old-school look, so if I do any mods it'll be for practice more than anything else.

Well, for square corners: Get Square Corners on a Stroke That ... it's a bit of a workaround, but should work!
