    Default "Hello" jwbjerk, signing on

I have a long time interest in maps-- going back to kindergarten when i filled multiple sheets of paper with intricate mazes.

I've dropped by these forums from time to time to see what people have made, but i think it's time to join and give/take some feedback.

I have a world-building/mapping project that i've been documenting on this blog.

For cartography-related stuff, i've started this thread on these forums.

Wow... Great blog! That will sure help me completing details in my project.

    Welcome to you

PS: I would be interested in asking you some questions but I'll first read your blog consciously if you don't mind ...

    Guys, thanks for the welcome.

Guldaroth, questions are welcome, especially after you've tried to understand initial explanation. Though i must warn you, the blog probably makes me look more informed than i am. Some of that stuff, especially the mathematically-heavy stuff i barely understand, and am doing my best to digest information i've gleaned from various sources.

For several years now, I'm working with some friends on a quite similar project than yours. I was also trying to give it a realistic note by using rudiments of sciences and mathematics. We chose to create our world from large scale to small scale. So now we just made the climate and working on flora. I would also be interested in some criticism from your part about our project but the problem is, all our works are in french... We could also perhaps consider doing some mutual aid 'bout what we've learned.

The real difference I see, is that we aim our project at creating a consistent world for cultural experiments rather than geological or cartographic (though it's important to do it before creating languages or cultural architecture)

That should be more accurate than this small explanation...

I'm interested in designing pretty much everything too, but i make no promises, first things first. Biology and history will probably be involved.

Comments relevant to your project are in your thread.
