    Map Trevisto

    Hi fellows,

A map I finished yesterday for a private tabletop RPG party. It's supposed to be a handout from a rich merchant showing the lands around Trevisto, a Venice like city sitting in the middle of a marshland. I hope I correctly gave that "from the world" feeling and that my golden border looks golden enough. The client seems satisfied (and I'm too) so, that's pretty good for now.

As always feel free to tell me what you think of it. Critics are welcome.

    Cheers !

EDIT : I changed the file as I had forgotten two labels ...

Wow that's really good, Thomas. I really like the consistent colour palette.

    Beautiful work Thomas
    And splendid colors.
Some text is harder to read than it should be, but is still readable.

Ow! Your hands must be hurting after all those tiny little marsh symbols!

Grazie Mille Tommaso ! The parchment was real fun to make (thanks to Max and J.Edward for inspiring me to do my owns BTW) and the forest same out with a good color so I'm happy.

Thanks a lot John ! About the text, it wasn't easy. I was reluctant to add outer glow or a light trace around the labels. As the map needs to have a "from the world" vibe, I looked at real ancient maps and saw that labels were either cluttered in details or that the artist made room around them and I was reluctant to erase the linework. I added a light yellow glow and printed the real size piece and it came out ok so, all is good but labeling is a real problem on such busy pieces.

Thanks a lot Sue but I cheated a little. Many of those tiny symbols are clones, I've got a pretty decent symbol cloning facility around here

Beautiful work! It is really your style that asserts itself and one recognizes in the line, in the mountains, the choice of colors ... and I really like all that! I do not know what freedom you have in disposing of land, sea and other elements, but the result is very balanced and, I think, fairly consistent. There is indeed a large surface of mountains, but, graphically, it adds much to the whole ... Can I ask you how long you spent on this beautiful piece ?

A very fine map, Thomas! The city of Trevisto is gorgeous, and I concur with the others about the colors. I also like your mountains : they really act as a strong "wall".
