    Post Improve a cavern map

I am trying to re-draw a map from a PAIZO adventure called The demonskar legacy. Mainly because one area need two levels off drawing (but we'll see that later).

I am using photoshop and I feel my first try is far from correct :

What should I do to improve this?

I think your version is pretty good actually.

heh... I have to comment though about the embedded hidden monster (look at the two pillars on the right side and think of eyes...hehe)

    I like it.

Paizo has some of the nicest maps in any publication but I wish they'd present you with an unlettered, undocumented one for game play.

I tried to use shadows in order to give a little depth to the chasm :

    Is it better?

I think that is just great ... the only thing I could say is I like the black edges of the map (the solid parts) darker in relation to the cavern/dungeon area.... might bring out those areas more .... my first impression was that you might have added noise filter over everything ... until I really studied the map ... but I think its great.... and I've always like West's style of map.... excellent job!

Here is the final version [well, if someone has a pertinant comment it may be upgraded] :

And a stamp to modify the steel gate entrance when the PCs walk under the balcony:

The grid size is a little odd : 37pixels per cell. That is because I used a scan of the original as a base in photoshop.
