Default The Lands of Ter- Soreth

So this is the second map I've ever done and I really like the simplistic style. I'm going to be using this for a novel I'm planning on writing. Thoughts critiques and criticisms welcome!

Well the hand drawn elements all look pretty good but I don't know about the forest texture; I'd recommend going with some trees or forest symbols rather than a pattern, particularly given that it looks nothing like forests. Otherwise though, not bad.

Hi letsgoheat! I agree with arsheesh... I mistook your forests for cold tundra before reading the names...

You've got different techniques here :

The discrete tree symbols do look better. If you're going for a hand-drawn look, I'd make sure the mask for labels among the trees clips out entire symbols. Nobody hand-drawing a map would draw in slivers of symbols - they'd probably letter the label first and then scatter whole trees around it. It's looking nice, though! About the right amount of detail to fit in a printed book.
