Tutorial How to post an Attachment / Image / Map

New members here ask how to upload an image for their posts so as to post their map. So if your having some trouble then this is a walk through of how to do it.

Stage 1: Use the Advanced Reply option to make your post.
When replying to another members thread you can do so with a "Quick Reply" or by using the more complete, extra featured "Advanced Reply" form. If your not already in the advanced form then there should be a button on the page just below the reply box called "Go Advanced".

Stage 2: Find the "Manage Attachments" button which should be just below the reply box.

Stage 3: It should pop up a box where you can see all of your previous attachments and a button top right called "Add Files". You can use that to upload a new image. Find the image file on your computer and OK it.

Stage 4: It should upload it and add it to the list of images that you have historically added to the guild (the right panel). Also it adds any new ones as an attachment to include in your post (which is the box at the bottom). You can tick or un-tick items to add to your post. You can click "Insert Inline" button where it will put these images into the post within the text of your post. Or click the "Done" button and it will add them to the bottom of your post as items to bring up. Personally I think its better to use the Done option as it makes formatting your post easier but its up to you. The image at the bottom of this set shows what happens with the Done option but this tutorial has the attachment images inline with the text wrapped around the images.

Stage 5: You are taken back to your post with the attachment put inline, or as shown the attachment is put into a box at the bottom ready for people to click on.

Some final comments - There are limits to the file sizes that the forum allows. And if uploading an artistic piece its best to use JPEG but if uploading a black and white or block solid color map then PNG is a better option.

It might be better to upload the map first then write all of the text for it once its added because it has been known that after going into the upload manager and back to your post it has lost the text and you might have to write it all out again ! I think this depends on your browser and settings. It might be a good idea to make a copy of a lot of text before going into the attachment manager for this reason.
