    Default Hello from France

    Hi,

I found this site by luck and I find it very interesting.

I'm French, 42 year old, and I like drawing. You can see, in attachments, an example of gaming map that I made for a MMORPG.

I use mainly open-source software like The Gimp and Inkscape.

Welcome to the Guild. I am also 42, but not French, and am learning GIMP.

Very solid and appropriately styled...wish I could get that kind of look. I think the "antique" is over the top but I do the same thing Well done and glad to have ya here.

    thank you very much

I have found plenty of interesting things in your forum. it is really good.

your challenges can, maybe, interested me (just for fun). The next lite challenge is planned for May-June ?

For my map, I used Inkscape for the drawing and Gimp for the post-processing (colors, parchment shape and texture). Inkscape is a very good vectorial drawing software but it uses many CPU (mostly when it displays each tree, mountain or house).

The current one should be finishing up soon and the next will be the Apr - May one. The lite challenge starts mid month and the main challenge starts beginning of each month. You can enter either tho if you win the main challenge you cant enter the lite one any more. Any member can vote in either challenge voting poll and are encouraged to do so.

    Thank you for these explanations.

I'll see if I like the next challenges themes
