Welcome and that is a great first map. Nice clean lines with clean fills - looks like a vector map not PS so well done on that. If it took you 1/2 hr then thats quick too ! Repped.

well, thanks! i can assure you it's made in ps: still have the psd^^
yes: quick, but lacks details, even though i don't know if more details would work with this style.
i've just seen some gorgeous maps here and i was a bit embarassed, so thanks again!

Shoot, it would take me an hour just to set up the paths around the citadel. Nice job.

thank you, but it's easier than it may seem: probably, because i worked more on its look instead of realism. the more i look at it the more i think it needs work

That's a good first map and you did it quickly as well. I look forward to seeing how you develop as you get into making maps even more.

just inspired by the late 1700s fortifications of my city (with the big difference mine isn't a coastal city).

and the map is for a play by forum involving guilds and stuff like that, so i thought fortifications could work well as critical targets.
but i definitely prefer more realistic ones (and looking for some good tuts).

lastly, please forgive my english mistakes

Wow. Those people seriously do not like intruders. Well done! And thanks for the intriguing Torino fortifications map. Do you know of an online version of that at higher resolution?

What era is your city? Marauding hordes, siege engines, early gunpowder?

Will there be port facilities and outside-the-wall buildings?

here it is; not much bigger but definitely clearer.

and yes: turin had to pay great attention to defences because piedmont (my region, at the time a little state) is just some kilometres far away from france and austria, which ruled europe. i haven't thought to an era yet, but gunpowder is the most likely one.
about details, it depends on what people who asked me to make it want: this is just a preview.
    cheers!
