NM, I found that if I move the text layer to the bottom, the text shows through. Man, CC3 is easy to draw, but hard to draw well =(

One of the pitfalls of working with sheets.

Yes, compared to the layers in other programs, CC3's sheets are reversed: the items at the bottom of the list are "on top." In reality, the list reflects the order in which things are rendered. The renderer goes down the list of sheets and draws each one, so the last object drawn will be above all the others.

You do eventually get used to the way it works, and you'll speed up significantly. My second continental map took a fraction of the time of my first, although it was much more complex.

Nice map, Noven! Looking good; a good first map to place here.

Make sure to keep us posted with posts as your skills and the map progress.

Ahhhh, the Neverwinter Nights Font. I love it.

Small complaint, but your Fisherman's Cove seems a bit of a misnomer. A cove is small Sheltered Bay, yet yours is approximately 500 miles across

Again, just me, your milage may vary.

A big cove then? =P Naw, I was thinking that it would hve been a name for a small portion, but the entire area adopted the name.

A quick suggestion: Could you export in jpeg mode? Bitmaps are a little inconvenient, since most browsers cannot display them. Also, you can get more resolution with a smaller file size since jpeg compresses. You will lose a bit of crispness, though.

I'd suggest PNG, but CC3 seems to export a non-standard image that doesn't display in Firefox.

You have a good eye for where to scatter detail. It might be just a tad too regular, but you've put in just enough extra trees and grass tufts to fill in the spaces without making it look crowded.

You might think about adding a light glow to your text sheet to keep the labels legible over contrasty areas. The Dark Forest, for instance, is a bit difficult.

How do you add a light glow to the text sheet?
