    Default Freehand says hello.

My name is telling it. I'm a Freehand user since a few years.
I learned the program at the graphic design school.
Later I heard from a friend who is cartographer that Freehand is a professional tool for them.

So I started to use it for fantasy maps for my Trauma Universal RPG.
You can have a look at the continental map in the german Trauma wiki:
    http://wiki.flyinggames.de/doku.php?id=1111:start
(you have to scoll down a bit)

But I use Photoshop and real paper for cartography as well.
Have a look at it here:
    http://wiki.flyinggames.de/doku.php?id=1111:froschen
    and here:
    http://wiki.flyinggames.de/doku.php?id=1111:tretoir

I'm happy to be here, to get a good look at nice maps and illustrations.
And I hope to learn a few things.

I wish my german was as good as your english! lol Took it as a "minor" language in school thirty years ago, but can still pick up on alot of it, even if I can't quite speak it. I think you tretoir map is quite nice. I'm not familiar with Freehand software but I like the results you've achieved with it. I'll check it out. Thanks.

    You learned German? WTF?
Its quite difficult. What was your intention in taking that road? Was it fun?

I wanted to have some naive look to that Tretoir-map, as in many medieval maps.
But that one isn't finished yet. Many locations have to be added.
Perhaps it would be nice to ad some grainy structure to the paper. What do you think?

    Novostan? Land of the Novosi?

Also, I love Tretoir - it's got a very authentic mediaeval feel to it.

Wilkommen aus Cartographers' (or sth like that )
